Season 6 Episode 22 - A Friend in Need II

Xena is preparing to battle against Yodoshi's Samurai warriors and on the way she buries her famous armour and instead is wearing a Samurai warrior's armour. Meanwhile Gabrielle has realised what that Xena is fighting the army on her own and goes to find her. By now the army is attacking Xena and at first she uses a bow and arrow to fight them then she draws her sacred Katana and starts the real fight. Xena gets shot at by hundreds of arrows and manages to dodge them then one gets her, she breaks it off and keeps running toward the Samurai's but more arrows hit her. Xena doesn't stop though and finally reaches the warriors. She kills many with the Katana but then one of the Samurai's finishes her off with his sword.

Meanwhile Gabrielle still doesn't know what has happened to Xena and keeps looking for her despite what the ghost killer is telling her. Xena is now with Akemi in the tea hut and is a ghost. Gabrielle has found Xena Chakram but still wont give up looking for Xena, her soulmate. Back in the teahouse Xena has found out that she is under Yodoshi's power and after getting beaten by him she submits to his will. Then she goes looking for Gabrielle. Gabrielle finds her in a forest and still doesn't know that she is dead. But when she gives her the Chakram back Xena's hand goes right though it and Gabrielle realises that Xena is dead. Xena tells her that she has to kill Yodoshi, and the only way she can do that is if she is a spirit. After reassuring Gabrielle that they will bring her back Gabrielle tells Xena that she is her whole life and she can't lose her. Then one of Yodoshi's watchers sees Xena and tries to summon him by ringing an amulet but Xena stops her and the ghost killer kills her. Then Xena take the amulet and takes Gabrielle back to the teahouse. Once there Gabrielle learns that there is a way to bring Xena back, she has to burn Xena's body and put the ashes in the fountain of strength on the top of a mountain before sunset tomorrow. But first Gabrielle has to find Xena's body, which has been taken by a Samurai. Akemi gives Gabrielle a gift to protect her on her journey, it is a beautiful tattoo which looks like a dragon. Xena gives Gabrielle the Katana and then she goes to find Xena's body. Once in the Samurai camp Gabrielle learn that Xena head has been decapitated from her body and has to fight for it. Gabrielle has to fight the Samurai that killed Xena using the Katana, and as Gabrielle proves her fighting skills have grown over the years and she beats the Samurai warrior in one fast, agile move. The Samurai asks her to decapitate him giving him a honourable death but Gabrielle doesn't and just takes the head (Nice one Gabrielle!) She burns Xena's body then makes her way to the top of the mountain with Xena's ashes. Meanwhile Xena and the ghost killer have summoned Yodoshi and try to kill him but Yodoshi wins and kills the ghost killer. Before he dies he tells Xena the only way she can beat Yodoshi is to drink from the fountain of strength and used a sword that he blessed to kill Yodoshi. Near the top of the mountain Gabrielle has to fight the Samurai she beat earlier again. He manages to kick the ashes out of her hand but Gabrielle wins the fight but the ashes fall over a cliff. While Gabrielle tries to get them Xena is also on the mountain fighting Yodoshi but before she gets to the fountain of strength Yodoshi knocks her almost unconscious. While Akemi fights Yodoshi Gabrielle goes to the fountain, still without the ashes, and put some of the water in her mouth and takes it back to Xena but Yodoshi sees her and fires a ball of energy at her back. Gabrielle's tattoo stops the fireball and she takes the water back to Xena and puts it in her mouth. By now Yodoshi has defeated Akemi but Xena is now stronger because of the water. Xena's spirit goes back to her normal warrior clothes and Xena takes the Katana and goes to fight Yodoshi while Gabrielle gets the ashes. After an incredible fight Xena beats Yodoshi and Gabrielle manages to get the ashes. By now the sun has started to set but the Samurai again attacks Gabrielle. Gabrielle gets the Chakram and throws it at the Samurai killing him, and then she catches it again. Gabrielle manages to get the ashes back to the fountain before the sun has set completely but before she can put the ashes in the fountain Xena stops her and tells her that if Xena is brought back to life then the souls of all the dead that Xena killed years ago will not be free. The only way they can stay free is if Xena stays dead because they have to be avenged. Gabrielle doesn't seem to care though, but Xena wont let her put the ashes in the fountain. Together they watch the sun set stopping the hope of Xena coming back to life. As Gabrielle leaves Japa, still with Xena's ashes Xena comes back to Gabrielle and tells Gabrielle that wherever she goes, she will always be at her side.
