Season 1 Episode 08 - The Nox

When the government demands concrete results and technological gains from the SG program, Teal'c recommends they visit a planet with an invisible animal species called the Fenri that possess the power of invisibility. SG-1 arrives but encounter a Goa'uld hunting party belonging to Apophis. They are looking for the Fenri as well.

O'Neill attempts an ambush but things go wrong and all of the SG-1 members are killed as is Shak'l, an opposing Jaffa. Later, SG-1 wakes up - they have been literally resurrected by an alien race who identify themselves as the Nox.

The Nox ar a pacifistic race that have the ability to shield themselves from outsiders. They are gently bemused by SG-1 and refuse to intervene between the two warring factions. They have also resurrected Shak'l, and SG-1 is concerned he'll report the Nox's existence to his master Apophis. The Nox seem remarkably unconcerned about the potential danager, much to Jack's frustration.

At the end the Nox thwart Apophis' plans as Teal'c deals with Shak'l, and the Nox reveal that they have vast technology but choose to cloak it an dlive a primitive life. They ask SG-1 to leave, noting that they have much to learn before they are truly ready to interact with the Nox.
