When the U.S. government refuses to negotiate with anti-Honduran forces in Nicaragua for Daniel and Dr. Lee, Jack is "authorized" to launch a rescue operation. The revolutionaries want to know about the artifact, and torture Daniel and Lee for information. Lee reveals the device can provide eternal youth and the revolutionary leader Rafael turns it on, empowering him. Rafael kills his own men when they turn against him over the device. While Daniel rigs an escape, the dead men come back to life under the influence of the artifact and the guys escape during the distraction.

Jack goes to rescue him with a CIA man named Burke, whom he has a history with. Burke walks off and later joins up with Jack anyway. They find Daniel's guide Rogelio who directs them on, and Burke explains how he ended up discredited. They arrive just in time to rescue Daniel but one the reanimated dead men is in hot pursuit, and Burke takes it out. They recover the relic and Jack looks into helping out Burke now that the two are reconciled.

Meanwhile Sam, Jacob, Bra'tac, and Teal'c plan their own assault on Anubis' planet, with Jacob going in disguised as a super-soldier to get past the force field protecting Anubis' Stargate and let everyone else in. Jacob succeeds and they find a queen-breeding program to create the mutated Goa'uld based on the memories Anubis acquired from scanning Jonas' mind (in Homecoming). The team plants explosives and discover a vast army of the super-soldiers, then get discovered. They detonate the explosives and escape but one of the super-soldiers gets on board the shuttle - Bra'tac ring-teleports it into the atmosphere and they get back to SGC.
