Season 2 Episode 05 - Return of Callisto

Callisto gets out of prison and the only thing on her mind is still revenge. She tries to kill Gabrielle just to annoy Xena but she soon finds out that circumstances have changed between the to friends and Gabrielle has just got married the day before. So she kills her husband Perdicas instead. While Xena is trying to find Callisto and stop her from hurting any one else, revenge is now the only thing on Gabrielle's mind. She tricks Xena by telling her that she is going home to grieve but instead she goes to where Callisto is. When she gets there every one is asleep after the great party they had the night before. Gabrielle picks up her sword and presses it to Callisto' s throat, then remembered what Perdicas had once said to her. He said that one of the reasons he loved Gabrielle was because she never killed. Gabrielle put down the sword and the noise of it dropping woke Callisto.

Callisto captured Gabrielle and made Xena come and get her, when she turned up Callisto tied her up and made her watch Gabrielle burn to death. Joxer come in and tried to get Gabrielle free but failed, though this did give Xena enough time to untie herself and free both Gabrielle and Joxer. Xena chased Callisto and there was a massive chariot race between the two, but when Callisto tried to stop Xena they both fell out of their chariot and in to quicksand. Xena got herself out and just watched Callisto slowly sink further in to the sand, refusing to help, and die.
