Season 2 Episode 20 - The Price

Xena and Gabrielle try to save some soldiers and themselves from a tribe of people called the Horde. The Horde are thought to be a very violent group of people and are extremely hard to beat. Xena starts letting her darker side take over and takes charge of the army of soldiers given no though to the sick and wounded. Gabrielle on the over hand is being the doctor as the last ones were killed, she takes a look out of the forts gates to see how many have been wounded and killed, knowing she can't leave to help them. All the Horde are saying one word Kaltaka not knowing what this means the soldiers presume it is their God of War. Gabrielle goes back to help all the injured but Xena won't let them have any food or water, so Gabrielle just does the best she can.

Xena captures a Horde and starts to torture him to get information, but he wont give any up, he is tied up in the stock room until he changes his mind. Gabrielle goes in their to get some water and soon finds out that Kaltaka is not a God but is water, the injured on the battle field are just asking for water. Gabrielle goes out and gives some of the wounded Horde water, Xena is furious and tries to get out of the fort to get Gabrielle back before she is killed. The Horde think that this was a sign of truce so start to retrieve their wounded. Xena soon realises that these people do have a code and she ask the leader of the other side to fight her. A massive, very tall man comes out, but Xena wins the fight and all the Horde retreat, Xena realises that it is now safe to leave.
