Season 3 Episode 07 - The Debt II

Wondering how Gabrielle got to China before Xena did because Xena took the quickest route and left before Gabrielle, Xena is put in dungeon by Ming Tien. When in dungeon Xena starts to think more and more about Lao Ma. She remember that just after Lao Ma saved her life she started to teach her her ways and Xena slowly became more peaceful and even learnt how to use a great power referred to as The Way, where she could move and brake objects with just her mind. Then Xena saw Borias again and hated him, all that she had learnt went and when she saw Ming Tsu again, she went back to her evil ways but she did have a bit more peace inside her thanks to Lao Ma. Xena asked some of the other prisoners if they knew how Lao Ma was and soon found out that she had been executed by the house of Ming, her son.

When Xena refused to promise Ming Tien that she would never return to the kingdom he decided to executed her. Gabrielle was aloud to go and see her in the dungeon she was so sorry for what she had done but Xena forgave her knowing that Gabrielle was only doing what she thought was right. The execution arrived and just before she was killed Xena remembered Lao Ma's old ways and she realised how to have the same mental strength Lao Ma did. Xena managed to get out of the execution using only her mind. She came face to face with Ming Tien and told him that the woman he ordered the death of Lao Ma, was his mother. Ming Tien already knew and confessed to killing her himself because he knew that she wouldn't kill her own son. Xena killed him and the next time she saw Gabrielle she promised her that she didn't kill him and the truth comes out in a later episode.
