Season 4 Episode 03 - A Family Affair

After having a vision of Gabrielle in the previous episode Xena and Joxer go and try and find her. They travel to Gabrielle's home village Poteidia and find her easily. But after finding a mutilated body in the forest Xena realises that the Destroyer (the child of Hope and Ares) is somewhere in the village. Which means that Gabrielle is actually Hope, and the real Gabrielle is dead. Xena and Joxer try and find a way to kill both Hope and the Destroyer meanwhile Hope tries to kill Lila and would have succeeded if Xena hadn't of saved her. Hope runs off to where The Destroyer is and Xena follows but on the way she finds the real Gabrielle in the forest while they are reuniting Joxer attacks Hope but fails miserable and is captured and given to the Destroyer to eat. He manages to get free with the help if Xena, who now has a plan of how she can kill both Hope and her child. Later that night Gabrielle and Xena both go to the cave where the Destroyer is and Gabrielle pretends to be Hope while Xena kills it by stabbing it in the back. The Destroyer now knows that Gabrielle isn't Hope and tries to kill her, but due to a quick move by Gabrielle it accidentally kills Hope instead.
