Season 5 Episode 02 - Chakram

Xena and Gabrielle have just been brought back to life by Eli and Callisto and are a bit shaken. After a few minutes Amarice gives Xena her Chakram back but it is now broken because Callisto throw it at her just before they were crucified on the Ides of March. Gabrielle tells Xena that they wont be able to mend it but Xena doesn't mind because she can't remember what it is anyway. Very concerned Gabrielle tells Xena it was her weapon but Xena still doesn't remember it. Joxer, Eli, Amarice and Gabrielle soon find out that Xena has lost her memory, she can't remember fighting at any point in her life. Meanwhile Ares has met up with the god of war of another area he is called Kal. Both of them are worried about Eli's power to raise the dead but seem to have a plan. Gabrielle and Xena are now a bit better but Xena doesn't remember anything still.

While choosing some new weapons and clothes they are attacked by a group of men. Xena doesn't fight though because she is not violent because of her lack of memory. They get away Ok and are taken to an ancient library by Eli. Eli tries to find out what has happened to Xena and in the meantime Ares visits Xena and tries to deceive her. After a while Eli finds out that they have to get the Chakram of Light, which only a pure soul can pick up, it can kill a god. This is what Ares and Kal have been after, the five of them manage to get to the Chakram but a battle brakes out and Xena is forced to kill Kal with it. While trying to think of a way out of the battle Joxer tells Gabrielle that he loves her and that he wanted her to know incase she unexpectedly died again. Before Gabrielle has a chance to answer Ares appears and tries to get the Chakram. Xena combines the Chakram of light with her old Chakram and it makes a brand new one, this also takes away the power to kill gods with it. Because of the combination Xena's memory returns to her and she fights off Ares's men. As he no longer has a use for the Chakram Ares leaves and Xena gets to keep the brand new Chakram, which can be spilt into two parts. Eli decides to stay where he is and Xena, Gabrielle, Joxer and Amarice leave together. Joxer reassures Gabrielle that he doesn't want her to do anything about what he told her earlier he just wanted her to know that he loves her.
