Season 5 Episode 22 - Motherhood

Xena and Gabrielle follow Eve into a desert where she is nearly killed and doesn't put up a fight, Xena and Gabrielle manage to save her though. Meanwhile the Gods have found out that Xena and her daughter are alive and well and so they try and think up a way to kill Eve. They decide to make Gabrielle mad using the Furies in the hope that Gabrielle will kill Eve for killing Joxer. Instead of just quickly making her insane they do it slowly so that Xena doesn't get suspicious. Gabrielle keeps hearing voices in her head telling her to kill Eve but she ignores them. Eve is torturing herself over what she has done and so Xena and Gabrielle take her to a Baptist so she can be initiated into the cult of Eli.

While being baptized a fireball is sent down to Xena by Michael, which tells Xena something. Then Poseidon bursts out of the sea and Xena throws her Chakram at him, and to their surprise he dies. Then many more of the Gods attack Xena but Xena kills them too. Michael told Xena that as long as Eve lives Xena has the power to kill Gods. Xena, Gabrielle and Eve go to Virgil so that Eve can apologies for killing Joxer, but Virgil is not impressed. He tries to kill Eve but Xena stops him, Xena and Eve leave while Gabrielle talks to Virgil for a while and then she catches up with Xena again. They go to a little house and decide to stay there for the night, Ares appears outside and Xena goes out to talk to him. While she is outside the furies torment Gabrielle some more, then Gabrielle picks up her Sais and stabs Eve. Xena comes running in and throws her Chakram at Gabrielle it hits her on the back of the head. Both Gabrielle and Eve are very badly injured but neither are dead, then the gods attack again. Xena fights them off while Aphrodite helps Gabrielle who she has become friends with. Xena fights the gods off and asks Aphrodite to heal Gabrielle and Eve. Aphrodite explains that God cannot heal without Athena's blessing and Athena isn't going to give her blessing. Aphrodite sends Xena, Eve and Gabrielle to Olympus so that Xena can try and make a deal with the remaining gods. The Gods disagree and Xena kills all of them bar Athena and Ares, Ares gets chained up and Xena fights Athena. When Xena strikes the killing blow Athena doesn't die because Eve is now dead because of her wound that Gabrielle gave her. Athena and Xena fight some more and this time when Xena strikes her she dies. Xena looks round to Eve and Gabrielle and they are both alive. Ares has healed them, Xena asks how and Ares explains he gave up his immortality to heal Eve and Gabrielle. Xena thanks him and goes off knowing the only god left is Aphrodite and she wont harm them. Ares is now mortal and as usual still in love with Xena.
