Season 6 Episode 01 - Coming Home

Ares sends Xena, Gabrielle and Ares a message telling then to meet him in an Amazon forest but doesn't say why. When they get there they find out that the Amazon forest has been burnt down. After a few seconds a fight brakes out so Xena, Gabrielle and Eve go over to help. They see Amazons fighting men in heavy armor so they fight with the Amazons. With Xena, Gabrielle and Eve's help the Amazons win and the men retreat. The Amazons thank Xena, Gabrielle and Eve for their help and then ask Xena to help them again by killing Ares, who everyone thinks is still a God. Eve stays with the Amazon Queen, Marga, while Xena and Gabrielle go to talk to Ares.

Meanwhile the Furies, who are pretending to be Xena, Gabrielle and Eve, have visited Ares. Together the Furies are making him insane and are trying to get him to go against the Amazons in a full-scale war by telling him that the Amazon's have Ambrosia, which would make him a God again. The thought of fighting with Xena (or a fury pretending to be Xena) and becoming a God again makes Ares get a little crazy and when one fury, pretending to be Xena, starts being horrible to him Ares goes completely made when the real Xena gets there she realizes that the Furies have made him made so that Xena and Ares will kill each other, so Xena goes back to the Amazon village.

Meanwhile back in the Amazon village the Amazons have captured Eve and plan to execute her because she killed so many of their tribe in the past. Xena manages to stop the execution and then goes to fight Ares in a full-scale battle. But Xena shows Ares's army that he is no longer a god and the army retreat. Ares, who is now mad, chases Xena to a lake frozen by ice. They fight each other and Xena is pushed into the lake and can't get out, after she drowns Gabrielle and Eve run over to her and resuscitate her. Then Xena kills the furies with her Chakram.

Ares, who is no longer being tormented by the Furies, decides to accept his mortality and goes to live a normal life.
