Season 6 Episode 12 - The God You Know

After Xena and Gabrielle see many brutally murdered dead bodies Michael appears in front of Xena and Gabrielle and tell them the dead bodies are the handy work of the Emperor Caligula, who is a god! Michael tells them he murdered his entire family and that he kills anyone who won't join his cult of blood. Then he informs them that Eve is in Rome and he will kill her too. So Xena and Gabrielle go to Rome, when Xena tries to kill Caligula Ares stops her telling Xena that if she kills Caligula then Aphrodite dies too because somehow their lifelines are intertwined. Gabrielle tells Caligula that Xena is called Saaba and she is a great charioteer and was going to ask Caligula to race. Caligula loves Saaba's eccentric surprise and invites her to be the guest of honor at his party.

That night Xena goes to talk to Ares, who has been thrown in prison, while Gabrielle goes to the party and talks to Aphrodite. Aphrodite can't remember Gabrielle at all and acts as if she is drunk even through she isn't. Caligula takes Aphrodite to her room and tells Gabrielle that Saaba is going to be executed because she never turned up at the party. Gabrielle stalls Caligula by showing him her dance, meanwhile Xena has found Ares and he told her that because there is no god of War the goddess of Love becomes unbalanced and somehow Caligula has been taking Aphrodite's Godhood away from her. At the moment he isn't a full god but will be soon. Xena gets to the party and tells Caligula she is at his command, Caligula tell her to kill Ares and that would prove her trust and he would race her. Xena goes up to him and bits his lip then goes back to Ares and gets ready to kill him, but Caligula's lip starts to bleed. Caligula gets freaked because he is a God and can't bleed after getting someone to stab him he realizes he is still a god and starts questioning Xena/Saaba. Xena tells him that she is Saaba the Celtic Goddess of Sex and she has the power to kill or hurt other Gods. Caligula is impressed and agrees to becomes Xena's ally and get rid of Aphrodite. Meanwhile Gabrielle has been trying to help Aphrodite regain her memory but is unsuccessful. Eve has been hiding in a cave away from Caligula with the other follows of Eli and is approached by Michael. Michael tells her he has a task for her. Eve goes to Caligula, as instructed by Michael, and allows him to kill her. Xena runs in and knocks Eve out she tells Caligula to kill Eve publicly, the winner of their race gets to kill her. Then she goes to Gabrielle and Aphrodite, Michael turns up and tries to kill Aphrodite because it will kill Caligula too but Xena stops him and tries to drown him for trying to get Eve killed as motivation for her to kill Caligula, but suddenly a fire beam comes down and encircles Xena when it goes Xena tells Gabrielle that she has lost the power to kill Gods! The following day Xena and Caligula, who is now a full god, have their chariot race, Xena wins and runs over to Eve. Then she tells Caligula who she is, then she pushes him to the ground Caligula realizes Xena can kill Gods, but Xena knows she can't anymore. Xena tells Caligula the best way to start his cult of blood would be to kill himself, which Caligula does because he is so mentally disturbed. Xena, Gabrielle, Ares, Eve and a now mortal Aphrodite, who has got her memory back, all make their way back to Greece.
